TEDS Behaviour Study re-launched
The TEDS Behaviour Study is now underway for the second wave of families, after successful completion of the first wave in 2011. This is a booklet study in which participating twins can earn rewards of vouchers and prize draw entries.
TEDS twins collect GCSE results
On 25th August 2011, the second cohort of TEDS twins received results for both their GCSE exams and vocational qualifications.
Work Experience with TEDS in Summer 2011

Results for the TEDS Prize Draws
The names of winners (and a gallery of photos) are published for the various TEDS prize draws that have taken place since 2010. These include prize draws for the Behaviour study, the Web study, the Wellbeing study and the NPD consent study.
16 year web study
The latest large-scale web study has now finished. Families in the first two cohorts were invited to take part, in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
BBC4 programme THE GENE CODE featured TEDS twins and researchers
A BBC television two-part series about genetics, The Gene Code, shown in April 2011, featured some TEDS families and TEDS researcher Dr. Claire Haworth. Watch out for repeats!
The Medical Research Council awards another five years' funding
TEDS has been funded by the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) since the project began in 1995. In 2009 the MRC renewed this funding, with millions of pounds awarded to TEDS and the research centre where it's based.
The Wellcome Trust completes a genetic scan of 4000 TEDS twins
As mentioned in the 2009 newsletter, TEDS was awarded a prestigious grant by the Wellcome Trust that funded genome scans for 4000 twins. The scans are now complete and TEDS researchers are getting to grips with the vast data.
Researchers ask for TIPs on how to run TEDS
The new TEDS Ideas Panels (TIPs for short) are being set up to ask participants' advice on the directions they'd like to see TEDS taking. So, if you're a TEDS twin and you have some opinions, we'll be giving you a chance to share them!
The US National Institutes of Health fund a new study of maths
In 2009, TEDS researchers secured international funding for a study on how our maths ability develops. Starting in summer 2010, TEDS twins have been invited to take part in the 16 Year Web Study, which includes the new maths activities.
Photo competition celebrates the International Year of Biodiversity
2010 was declared the International Year of Biodiversity by the United Nations, so TEDS held a photo competition with the theme of 'Earth'. Twins sent in a collection of beautiful and inspiring photos to win photographic prizes!
